My friend Gerald turned up the other day with what should be the answer to a draw of problems.
I really need to set to work and re-place handles on some of my tools.
So we did a deal and I swapped half a dozen eggs for a length of Ash.
Oh, and some socks...
I have quartered the Ash and will let it season...
I wont have to season the Ash for to long for this job as it is a slip fit...
The next tool on the job sheet is a rather lovely Froe...
Again this tool requires a slip fit handle...
Now this next tool is the one I will have to be more careful with. I shall need to leave a suitable length of Ash drying for some time before I fit the helve...
This is a bearded Axe made in Japan....
I will post some more photographs as the work proceeds...
And I'm sure Dolly and her chums will help...
ENJOY...J
